THE FALL OF MOMBUUTUTU

NEW CHOLMONDELEY TIMES

With Dogome forces advancing unopposed, the fall of the government of "Big" Willie Mbaka is imminent. Mombuututu is in disarray. Refugees choke roads leading out of Mombuututu to Tarzania, Antadamofo and Wurmmpotato. The refuge crisis is amplified in Wurmmpotato where there is a lack of anything that may aid the desperate escapees from war torn Mombuututu. Allegedly, the U.N. is debating this situation.
OUR PRESIDENT SPEAKS ABOUT MOMBUUTUTU
The President of the Commonwealth of Umgawaland, Maj. Gen. Joshua Butulutu, has spoken briefly about the crisis gripping Mombuututu. He is quoted in saying "Those Soviet lackeys are responsible for their own downfall. Mbaka has been reckless with the governance of Mombuututu, concentrating more on having his ring kissed than worrying about the welfare of his country. Mbaka and his Soviet lackeys were very loud when they assumed that the going was good, but now they're going out with barely a whimper. Good riddance!"
UMGAWAN TROOPS ON THE BORDER WITH MOMBUUTUTU
Rather than harsh glares and the occasional gun shots across the Umgawaland-Mombuututu border, friendly waves and greetings have been exchanged between Umgawan border troops and advanced elements of Dogome forces. The deteriorating situation in Mombuututu has been replaced with good spirits in the borderlands. "These Dogome troops seem to be really nice fellows", an Umgawan tank officer was heard saying. Nevertheless, the Mombuututu crisis has heightened tensions and Umgawan forces are on alert.

(In a) Statement from Democratic republic of Umbongo:

We are following the events in our neighbouring Mombuututu with interest and we urge restraint by all parties and a peaceful resolution to this conflict.

However we see the actions of the Umgawaland military particularly opportunistic and provocative. UmBongo will not tolerate further aggressive action towards our friends in Mombututu and will take the necessary actions to maintain its sovereignty.

Omovan Defence forces have raised their alert status from "Don't care" to "Passing interest".

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence released this statement "If our Quatro Pact ally Umgawaland is not concerned about the situation, then neither are we. We shall await further developments, and are ready to answer the call of our allies, friends, Union of African States or the United Nations, as required or warranted"

UMGAWALAND HISTORY 18th Century 1748 - Sir Humphrey Luxury-Yacht (late of Cholmondeley, Cheshire, England) of the East India Trading Company landed in Botungo Bay and established a trading outpost. Initial commodities for trade were bananas, coconuts, sugar and spices. 1750 - Because of population expansion at the EITC Botungo Bay trading post, a charter was granted to found a city and the name was changed to New Cholmondeley (in honour of Sir Humphrey's birth place). 1799 - The first coffee crop was planted, which would eventually lead to greater wealth generated in the colony. 19th Century 1808 - During the Napoleonic Wars, French privateers sought to wreak havoc on maritime trade along the eastern coast of Imagiafrica. One French ship, the "Blaireau en Colère", ran aground just south of New Cholmondeley. The crew was captured by the local militia. The French sailors must have enjoyed their captivity, describing it as "rather pleasant". Many stayed,...

Pihkáland Pilots Go Into Battle

Khenefrian aircraft recently tried to strike at the bridge over the Limpoko River in Duloc. Border tensions have simmered between the two counties after Duloc attacked and killed bandits hiding across the border with Me-262 fighter bombers. This led to retaliation when Khenefrian F-100 attacked and destroyed a passenger train in Duloc killing over fifty civilians. Not satisfied with this the Khenefrians have tried again. As the Khenefrian air force failed to keep their four F-100s serviceable they turned to China for support. The CCP supplied J-7s and J6 fighters and fighter bombers and also supplied the technical support to keep the planes in the air. Indeed some of the pilots that took part in the raid may have been Chinese instructors.   Luckily for Duloc two Pihkálander Skyhawks were training with two Duloc flown Drakens in the area. These air craft intercepted the raid and The Lieutenant Golmoko from the KP air force shot down two enemy fighter bombers. The now ace Capt...
